DISCREPANCIES IN TAU AND β-AMYLOID BURDEN ARE FREQUENT ACROSS THE SPECTRUM OF NORMAL AGING AND ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

      Although tau-PET measurements are strongly linked to cognition, discrepancies in amyloid-PET and tau-PET burden (“low tau”/“high amyloid” and “high tau/low amyloid” individuals) have been recently reported in limited samples. Here we examined the frequency and characteristics of these atypical tau-amyloid patterns and their relationship to cognitive status across the spectrum of Alzheimer’s disease.
