VISUAL RATING SCALES IN SUBJECTS WITH MILD COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT CHARACTERIZED FOR AMYLOIDOSIS

      Medial temporal lobe atrophy (MTA) and posterior atrophy (PA) scales are two visual MRI rating scales widely used in clinical practice for assessing regional brain atrophy in subjects with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Based on validation studies, they were found to have a predictive value for a future diagnosis of clinical Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, their association with a pathology- or biomarker-based AD diagnosis has not yet been demonstrated.
