Suspected non-Alzheimer’s pathophysiology (SNAP) individuals display Alzheimer’s disease
(AD) like neurodegeneration in the absence of β–amyloid. While primary age-related
tauopathy (PART) is thought to underlie neurodegeneration in SNAP, there is limited
evidence to support this hypothesis. To potentially gain insight into the underlying
pathology, we investigate medial temporal lobe (MTL) subregional atrophy patterns
in cognitively normal SNAP individuals, as these subregions are thought to be differentially
vulnerable to pathologies (e.g. tau, TDP-43).
